Mitsubishi Outlander: The Ultimate Family-Friendly SUV?
It’s difficult to say that any vehicle is perfect for a family or individual. However, that being said, there are certain ones that stand out for particular purposes. The Mitsubishi Outlander is one that you could argue falls into that category if you are looking for your next family-friendly SUV.
There’s more than one Mitsubishi dealer that might give you a good deal on one of these vehicles. Before shopping for one in person, though, you may want to research this model a bit.
Here are some features that make this a very strong candidate if you need a new family-friendly SUV that’s stylish and won’t break the bank.

The Cost
The cost is almost always a factor when you are looking for a family vehicle. You’ll be pleased to know, though, that Mitsubishi has made its Outlander one of the more affordable SUVs you are likely to encounter.
The lowest-priced version goes for about $31K. The high-end trim packages are more like $38K.
While that might be more than some families are willing to spend, that’s pretty affordable if you want a brand-new SUV that’s capable of seating seven, as this one does. You can also reconfigure the rear seat if you have equipment to haul around or groceries to pick up.
A Reworked Suspension and Soundproofing
The suspension of this model was specifically retooled by the company before making the 2025 version available. The current one is designed to give you as smooth of a ride as possible.
There’s also the soundproofing features that were added to the interior. There are materials in the Outlander that reduce the noise coming from outside while isolating the sound within. That’s how you can hear your favorite songs during your drive time while not getting lots of interference from honking horns or ambulance sirens.
The Engine
The engine is dependable with the Outlander without being overpowering. You get a 2.5-L inline four-cylinder.
While that is not as powerful as what you might get with some others in this class, the lower price point is what most buyers feel makes up for it. If you need an SUV that you’ll be using for towing and hauling, you might go with a different model that has more horsepower, but also a higher price point.
0-60 MPH Time
If you’re curious about how fast the Outlander can go from 0-60 MPH, the 2025 can get up to that speed in 8.2 seconds. That’s solid at this price point and in this category, but not incredible.
That’s to be expected. Mitsubishi is known as a practical vehicle company, but not one that makes many precision, speed-oriented machines.
Payload Capacity and Towing
Since this model is more suited for family needs, the payload and towing capacity are also solid while not being spectacular. You can tow up to 2K pounds with one.
If all of this is sounding good to you, then you will want to take a close look at the 2025 Outlander.
