8 Competitive Advantages to Look for in an Auto Dealership
If you are looking for a car, and you live in at least a decent-sized city, you may immediately see that there are many dealerships near you. It can be difficult picking the right one. However, it is a choice you will have to make at some point if you are going to get serious about buying a new vehicle.
Generous Auto is a reliable option if you live nearby. If you’re having trouble narrowing down the list of choices, though, consider these factors.

Look at Online Reviews
What are the online reviews of each dealership like? If you see one that has two-and-half-stars on Google and another one has five, it makes sense you’d choose the latter.
Does the Dealership Offer Financing?
You may hope to get financing directly through the dealership. Not every car-buyer will want that, but if you do, it might be a key factor that will impact your decision.
Does the Dealership Have the Model You Want?
Presumably, you have a model or a couple of possible car models in mind. If a dealership you’re looking at doesn’t have the vehicles you’re targeting, it makes little sense to go there.
How Close is the Dealership?
You will also probably want to think about how close each dealership is to you. If you’re looking at one that’s 20 minutes away, and another one is a two-hour drive, that should make the pick pretty obvious.
How Much Money Down Does the Dealership Require?
You may be in a situation where you don’t have a great deal of money to put down on the car. Perhaps you have none at all.
If so, finding a dealership that will give you some leeway in this area is a smart move. Call ahead and talk to one of the salespeople about how much you’ll need to put down before you go there in person.
Can You Get a Personal Recommendation?
You may give preferential treatment to a car dealership you know a friend or a relative went to and liked. Online reviews are always nice, but if you can talk to someone who you know and trust, and they tell you they had a great experience at this dealership, it’s a lot more likely you will be willing to go there as well.
What Kind of Terms Can You Get?
You will want to carefully think about the terms of any deal you make for a new vehicle. If you know about a dealership that won’t charge as much per month, that might appeal to you if you badly need a vehicle, but money is tight.
Are There Extra Added Incentives?
Sometimes, a car dealership will add an extra incentive to sweeten the deal if you buy your next vehicle there. Maybe they will give you a card worth three free oil changes or something along those lines. That might make that option emerge as a top contender.
You should consider all of these factors before making your final decision.
