60-Day UAE Visa For Tourists – Everything that You Need to Know

Having a basic understanding of the different visa options available to you when you are visiting a new country for the first time helps you choose the right kind of visa for yourself as per your requirements and your duration of stay. With this post, we will give you an insight into UAE visa types and also tell you about the new 60-day UAE visit visa option for tourists.

For starters, you should know the purpose of your visit to the UAE to decide on how many days of visa you will require. If you are attending a business conference or a family event, you may not require a visa for a more extended period. Ideally, a 7-day or 14-day prepaid visit visa could be sufficient for you.

However, if you want to visit UAE for a vacation or a job hunt, you may want to go for a 30 or 60-day visa option. Most visa types come with an additional period of stay, known as a “grace period” you need to ensure that you renew or extend your visa during this period.

New 60-Day UAE Visa For Tourists & Other Rules

If you plan a trip to the United Arab Emirates in the coming months, you should be aware of the new visa rules that have come into effect since October 3, 2022. The government of the UAE now has a new visa type available for tourists; this is a prepaid visit visa of 2 months – or 60 days.

According to the UAE Government’s media office, they have announced this new visa type with 60 days of duration to give their country’s visitors more flexibility to explore the job market within their country and get a peek into the quality of life in the UAE.

Furthermore, the government has also tweaked some rules for its job exploration visa, allowing talented individuals to find work opportunities in the UAE easily. Earlier, people needed a sponsor or a host to obtain this visa. With the new rules, this requirement has been removed. Other than that, they have also made major announcements regarding green visa and golden visa.

Talking about the new tourist visa, it allows you to stay in the United Arab Emirates for 60 days at a stretch from the date of the visa issuance. The decision to make prepaid visas valid for 60 days was made in a cabinet meeting back in April’22.

You can now explore the emirates for double the time and enjoy your stay thoroughly. Check off all the destinations within the UAE from your itinerary during your 2-month-long stay. UAE is an all-year-round travel destination.

Hence you don’t need to worry much while planning your travel dates. The country, which was once famed for just its dunes and tall buildings, has much more to offer in its world-class tourism experience that would enrich you for a lifetime.

Dubai, one of the UAE’s seven emirates, is truly this country’s life. It attracts a major part of tourists from across the globe.

Who is eligible for a 60-day UAE visa for tourists?

Those individuals who cannot obtain an on-arrival visa or a visa-free entry to the UAE can opt for a prepaid visa of 60 days. However, it should be noted that solo women travellers under the age of 18 are not allowed to apply for this prepaid tourist visa unless their parent(s) or guardian(s) are travelling with them.

As of now, citizens belonging to 69 countries and states are eligible for visa-on-arrival in the UAE, including Canada, Japan, Argentina, New Zealand, etc.

How can I apply for a 60-day tourist visa for UAE?

In this world of digitalization, applying for and obtaining a visa for UAE has become easier than ever. Your visa is just a few taps away from you! With the simplified process, you can easily apply for a prepaid visit e-visa to the UAE online with a scanned copy of your passport with a validity of 6 months and your passport-sized coloured photograph.

The process is digitalized, and you don’t have to visit an embassy or a visa processing centre to obtain your e-visa. Once your visit visa application is verified and approved, your e-visa will be sent to your WhatsApp number directly. Making payment for your visa is also easy through various online payment methods.

While getting the visa is hassle-free and quick, we recommend you apply for the visa 1 to 2 weeks prior to booking your flight tickets, as this visa type is new and the UAE government is still updating its immigration systems. In case of any kind of emergency, you can always apply for an express visa which takes 4 hours to get processed.

Can a 60-day UAE Tourist visa be extended?

Of course! Like most UAE prepaid visit visas, this 60-day tourist visa can also be extended without exiting the country. You can apply for an extension or renewal of the visa before it expires. This procedure is also carried out online.

The expiry date of your visa will be mentioned on your visa itself. If your visa has already expired, don’t fret – you will still have an additional 10-day grace period during which you can renew and extend the visa or leave the country altogether.

If you fail to do either of these even after your grace period has ended, the government will fine you 200 AED for your first day of overstay and 100 AED for every consecutive day of the overstay.

How much does a 60-day tourist visa for the UAE cost?

The approximate cost of this visa is 690 AED, roughly $187 USD. We have yet to receive information about this visa type’s extension and renewal fees.
