Moving to Managua This Monday Morning
Good morning and hi mom,
The time is 7am and yours truly has a long day of travel. One could get emotional and say how the time on this small island “changed my life” and other outrageous claims of such nature but won’t. The island is great, not for everyone but definitely for yours truly and will be back, of that I assure you. It’s moving day today and all good things must come to an end. Today I’m catching the panga to Big Corn Island then catching a flight to Managua before catching a 2am flight to Florida, hooray.
My Valentines Day date is whoever sits next to me on that Spirit Airlines flight from Managua to Florida at 2AM. Maybe I’ll meet my wife or just someone that will change my life? That or I’ll sit next to someone who for all intensive purposes should have bought two seats as they clearly need them. Regrettably, the latter is considerably more likely. That said, who cares embracing the randomness of travel is one of my favorite things to do.
While others sleep and creep, SHABL does jumping jacks while watching re-runs of Quantum Leap.
The panga won’t be an issue but I really hope it doesn’t rain for that 45 minute period that I”m “exposed” at sea. Will be arriving in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 5am and immediately checking into the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel by Hilton. I’d like to thank them for choosing to work with the “House of SHABL” and plan on spending the entire day there on the 15th, not even leaving the premise once – for anything. On second thought, will definitely at least go for a stroll as it’s in my nature.
This update feels uninspired and without flow, it’s my time to go.
If you’re new here, on my way to a press trip in South Africa on the 16th, bit of prep work required when living on a remote island.
See you in Florida.
Tips hat,
P.S: The photo above was taken at sunrise on Little Corn’s east coast.
