Finding a Home for Stray Kitten on Little Corn Island

November 13 kitten

Greetings,

Something I love about travel is that there are all sorts of experiences one can have in the process. There are the typical ones which could include fancy meals by the sea, long plane rides,  photos in front of landmarks and great views of the city skyline from a preferred hotel room. That said, the deeper you travel, the more varied your experiences become. I believe that to live a life well traveled, you need to travel as far and wide as possible, but also dig deep in several locations that really resonate with you.

Never did I think I’d find a stray kitten looking for someone to help them on my property here on the Corn Islands. After finding said kitten, I realized I really had no idea what to do with it and that I’m not the most suitable caretaker because ultimately, I want a life of travel. I’m not into staying in one location as it’s just not my style and don’t want this kitten becoming dependent on me, then letting it down. I decided the kitten had to go to the main strip, I had Desideri Cafe and Tranquilo Cafe in mind.

I was hanging out at Desideri and asked them about the kitten and later, while hanging out at Tranquilo, discussed it with some of the staff there. Luckily one of the ladies at Tranquilo was all about it and as a result the kitten now has a new home. I really don’t think said kitten could have a better home either; it’s owned by a really lovely lady and gets all the attention any kitten could want from friendly people the world over.

The slogan of this blog is that “You’ll never know unless you go” and this is one of those moments. These recent times on Little Corn Island have been great and for the first time in a long time, I know what it feels like to live somewhere again.  I’m very glad to call this place home but as much as I love it here, I’m still longing to see the rest of the world.

Regardless of how much you like your favourite meal, if you’ve been exposed to others you sure do like to switch the menu up from time to time or regularly if possible.
