1. BMW

You would be hard-pressed to find an adult who has never heard of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, which is far better known as BMW. This high-end automobile brand is known around the world for its luxurious vehicles and expensive price tag.

The BMW manufacturing headquarters is located in Munich, Germany and was founded in 1916. At its inception, BMW built aircraft engines and then branched out into automobiles. 2. Food

Germany is home to some of the most interesting, delicious food in the world. 3. History

Germany’s history is rich and complicated, but the events have played an enormous part in the history of the entire world. Early recorded history states that Charlemagne ruled both France and Germany, and in 843, Germany emerged as its own entity. From there, rulers, wars, religious conflicts, and political upheaval continued until recent decades. In 1989, the Berlin Wall was torn down, and this signified the end of the Communist rule that had tarnished the country’s history in the 20th century.

4. Architecture

German architecture has made its mark on the world. Cathedrals, castles, monuments, and other historic buildings remind the world of a time gone by, when monarchy and noblemen had grand structures built in the Middle Ages. Sanssouci Palace was the Rococo-style summer home of Friedrich the Great in the mid-1700s. Cochem Castle is over 1,000 years old, and the grandness and beauty of the structure still remains after all of these years. 

5. Beer

Beer drinking as well as beer brewing are an important pastime of many Germans. Only the Czech people consume more beer in Europe than the Germans. There are about 1,300 breweries in the country, and many of these breweries operate under an old law which states that hops, barley, water, and yeast should be the only ingredients in beer.

Oktoberfest is a world-famous beer festival that is held in Munich each year. This event is now over 200 years old, and many countries across the globe hold their own versions of Oktoberfest.

Germany has intrigued people for over 1,000 years, and this beautiful, interesting country continues to do so.
