5 Celebrities Who Are Not Monogamous

Celebrities are known for living unconventional lifestyles, but some embrace the unusual more than others.

While open relationships might not be for everyone, there are many famous faces that love this way of living and loving.

From Angelina Jolie to Whoopi Goldberg and Scarlett Johansson, read on to discover five celebrities who have been more than vocal about not being sold on monogamy.

Angelina Jolie

Ever since her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton, when they both wore vials of each other’s blood around their necks, it has been evident that Angelina Jolie is more than a bit out there when it comes to matters of the heart.

When she was married to Brad Pitt, Jolie revealed that she did not think that fidelity was essential in a relationship. She also famously said:

“Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other.”

Andrew Tate

Kickboxer turned world-famous influencer Andrew Tate has stated that he finds the idea of marriage “utterly fruitless” and vows to never settle down with just one woman.

When asked about his thoughts on marriage in a recent podcast, Tate said:

“I’d never get married, no. I don’t see the tactical advantage of getting married. If I decided to be loyal to a woman and be with her forever. That’s fine. If I decided to have children with a woman. That’s fine. If I decided to have a house with a woman and live with her. Sure possible, it’s not optimal.”

Scarlett Johansson

In an interview with Playboy magazine, Scarlett Johansson shared her views on monogamy, saying that she doesn’t think that it’s natural to be a monogamous person.

“It’s a lot of work. And the fact that it is such work for so many people – for everyone – the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing.”

Of course, Johansson is now happily married, so maybe her views on the matter have changed!

Whoopi Goldberg

Although Whoopi Goldberg has been married three times, she has been incredibly vocal about her views on relationships and the fact that she doesn’t believe in monogamy.

In her book, If Someone Says You Complete Me, RUN!, Goldberg states that:

“Sometimes in a relationship, people can’t always get what they need, and if you have reputable people you can turn to in order to get what you need, I say go for it. It is a whole lot better than being frustrated and angry at the person you love.”

Willow Smith

It’s hardly surprising that Willow Smith has more unconventional views on marriage, given her parents and their unusual relationship dynamic.

Identifying as “polyamorous,” meaning you have a desire to be in more than one relationship at any given time, Willow Smith was quoted as saying:

“With polyamory, I feel like the main foundation is the freedom to be able to create a relationship style that works for you and not just stepping into monogamy because that’s what everyone around you says is the right thing to do.”
