Sunset in Stone Town
Greetings,
Before we get into this here episode of the “SHABL SHOW” of sorts, stopped by the former Stone Town Slave Market today, highly recommended. It was chilling and incredibly interesting. A tip of the hat to Dr. Livingston for his tireless efforts to have it abolished. Wrote a full update which will be published Monday.
After the slave market, did what anyone without anything to do would do, lay down on a stone bench in front of my guest house with some local guys. After a while, rolled through into one of the main drags and ran into the lady from the pharmacy, she was with her friend.
Being the open minded, what’s up now type character that I am, asked the lady and her friend “feeling better today?” to which she quipped “most certainly”. They then asked me how I was doing and one thing led to another and the 3 of us were off for a walk to the Stone Town beach for sunset. Fellow travel blogger Mike said the sunset would be great, it was. Talked while ice cream tantalized our taste buds and local children did flips and kart wheels in the ocean.
The sunset was cool and afterward grabbed a bite in a local eatery before showing them my milk man station. The milk man was there and served us well, cool guy and a hot spot amongst local people, always crowded, sometimes a line.
Need to think of this anti-malaria business… Taking it for a month is one thing, but I’ve been on it for 3 months and plan on staying maybe another 3… Add the final month and that is 7 months of anti-biotics. I’ve already taken lots in my time and I am worried about long term effects. Malaria, there is cerebral but rare and in remote areas. All malaria can go to cerebral if not treated. If treated it is usually just like a flu. Furthermore if you take anti-malaria it often masks the symptoms which is risky as if you don’t treat it, can turn…
What to do!?!?
I digress.
Tips hat,
