Skydiving in Jordan at the Dead Sea
Greetings,
I’m excited to share this video with you of skydiving in Jordan because skydiving is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time… On my recent trip to Jordan I had the opportunity to go skydiving at the Dead Sea with Skydive Jordan and naturally, I was all over it. What’s cool is that I actually got to go because the Dead Sea is one of the driest places on the planet BUT on the day we went, there was an atypical storm of sorts so I was all ready to go when I got the news it might not happen.

Sure enough there were others in front of us and they all went so finally it was myself and two other characters that were left when it started to rain… First off, you’ll notice the jump isn’t from as high as usual because it’s illegal for the pilot to let people jump into clouds; it has to be clear. As a result, we could only go as high as the clouds, yes? That said, for every negative there is a positive because the backdrop for the dive was rather insane if you ask me. The colors, lighting and contrast all come to mind.
So how was skydiving in Jordan you ask? It was an absolute blast and to be honest, I never once got scared. Sure there was the usual self talk of “what am I doing?!” as your body gets all weird feeling because you’re basically doing something that is against all survival instincts, yes? That said, when I jumped and I finally caught my breath it was like time slowed down, I had not a thought in my mind and I was just happy. It was one of the most zen like moments I’ve had in recent memory and it’s absolutely addicting.
The actual parachute down is a little more nerve racking than the actual jump if that even makes sense. I brought my GoPro along for the ride and never expected to be pulling it out as we floated down. I’ll tell you this, I never gripped anything so hard in my life and I think it gives a great idea of what it’s like to be there. To close this up, I’m going to say that if you’ve ever thought of going skydiving; go for it! It’s a one of a kind experience but try and do it somewhere epic like say the Dead Sea so if you only ever do go once, it was a special one.
Tips hat,
