How To Have An Unforgettable Holiday With Your Partner

Everyone is busy around the holidays. After all, you’re attempting to buy gifts for your family and friends, plan the Christmas dinner party, and schedule a trip if you’re lucky. But if you and your partner want this Christmas season to be more than a whirlwind of last-minute shopping and baking (and who doesn’t? ), then you should plan something special.

Give them a gift

If you have a partner, giving them a gift can be a good idea. Gifts are thoughtful; let your partner know you care about them and think about them. It’s also an opportunity for you to show off how much research you’ve done in advance of the holiday (and potentially embarrassingly get it wrong).

Take part in your partner’s favorite hobby

Spending time together doing your partner’s interests is fun. If you’ve never tried archery or Japanese food, do it! Those who enjoy rock climbing may teach you how to climb.  Or, if they spend all day playing video games, now might be the perfect time for those two hours when everyone else has gone home, and you can play together without anyone else wanting to play Overwatch or whatever else floats his boat.

Unplug together

When you and your partner spend time together, try to unplug the world. Put away your phones and tablets and enjoy each other! Of course, this could be easier said than done if you’re glued to a screen for most of the day.

Take a walk around the neighborhood or nearby park. Look at birds, trees, flowers — anything but each other’s faces!

Surprise them with a gift

A great way to get your partner to open up about what they want is by giving them the option to choose their gift from a list of options. This can be fun for both of you and provide a nice way to show off your relationship skills—even if it’s just in the form of an Amazon wishlist! You could even try surprise by buying some lingerie and wearing it on Christmas Eve as an early present to ‘enjoy’.

Take a trip

Traveling together can be a great way to bond, especially if you’re traveling with a group of friends. If you’re traveling with your partner, it can be an excellent opportunity to spend time together.

Volunteer together.

Volunteering is a great way to get out of your comfort zone, explore your relationship and improve it. You can help others, learn new skills and have fun. Charity work also brings people together and gives them a sense of purpose.

Create some new traditions

Making it a point to do something different every year will help you and your partner stay engaged with each other and create memories that will last into old age. You could, for example, return to the same hotel or restaurant on your anniversary every year.

It’s also fun to devise creative ways to celebrate together without relying on tradition—but don’t be afraid to try something new now and then!

Pack a picnic

The picnic is one of the most romantic meals you can share with your partner. It’s easy and quick to put together, allowing you to get out in nature while spending time together.

Go on an adventure together

If you want to learn more about a new place, what better way than to explore it together? Take a hike or bike ride around the city. Visit an art gallery, or go on a shopping spree. Maybe even try something adventurous like camping in the wilderness or taking a scuba diving lesson!

And there you have it! We know that holidays can be stressful and expensive, but these tips should help you make the most of the time you spend together. The best part is that they don’t require a lot of money or time—just a little effort on your part. And remember: the best gift is always spending time with each other!
