Upgrade your bathroom

Although it can seem like a mammoth task, upgrading your bathroom can do wonders for your home. Not only will it help to increase the value, but it will also make your mornings and evenings far more enjoyable.

There are plenty of ways you can go about this, from ripping out the bathroom and starting again to adding in more storage and making it more user-friendly.

Consider how you like to use your bathroom and go from there. For example, if you rarely take baths it could be worth looking at different shower enclosures and upgrading to one. This would give you more space and is more apt for what you actually use.

Spruce up your garden

Home improvements shouldn’t be exclusive to the inside of your home. Is your garden in need of a little TLC? There are plenty of ways you can spruce up your garden and they don’t have to be expensive either.

It is always useful to start by sweeping up and removing any fallen leaves, as well as any other debris or unwanted garden furniture. Similar to doing up your bathroom, think about how you would ideally like to use your garden. Maybe you use it as a social space during the warmer months? Or perhaps it is a place where your children frequently play? However you choose to use your garden, there is plenty of inspiration online with ideas for how it can become a more usable and presentable space.

It could be fun to experiment with something new when it comes to the garden; why not add in a planting box and have a go at growing your own vegetables?

Re-paint

Something that many of us vow to never do again after moving in is painting, however, repainting a room is an effective way to give it a new lease of life. If you aren’t up to repainting your whole home, then why not pick a high-traffic area such as your kitchen or living room, and start there?

Pick a timeless paint colour and that way you won’t need to repaint again any time soon!

Switch out your hardware

If you want to improve the appearance of your home but don’t fancy a big project, try switching your hardware. Replacing both your plug sockets and light switches, as well as door and drawer handles can have a massive impact on the aesthetics of a room.

Make sure to opt for something that is going to be able to stand the test of time and won’t wear easily.
