Above is the video of the 6am flight from Managua to Big Corn Island, Nicaragua. The video was taken at some point last year but doubt the trip has changed much since then. If you look for it, you’ll notice that when the plane lands it goes over a dirt track for a while, that’s the much discussed landing strip expansion which is underway to accommodate international flights; supposedly from Miami, Florida but who knows?

If flying isn’t your thing you can always take the boat but if you did do that, I’m sure you’d quickly start wishing you had opted to take the plane. I took the boat out with friends the first time and that’s the one and only time I’ll ever subject myself to it. It’s not the worst thing in the world but it’s a really long haul and to say it’s not that pleasant would be an understatement.
