Travel is Cool, Family is Priceless

I write this from a hotel room in Rome, my mother is passed out from a long 24 hour trip to come see her son. What’s funny is there is a guidebook next to her as she’s sleeping, the first time a guide book has been allowed in my hotel room, might I add.

Traveling the world is cool, only if it’s something you want to do. If not it’s a horrendous waste of your energy. When I say energy I mean your health and wealth, please never forget that cash is nothing more than stored energy and nothing on this planet has value besides what you place on it.

What I’m getting at in my own way is that everything you opt to do has a cost and that family is priceless. Can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve seen anyone, 20 months is a long time.

We found a nice cafe in the center and had a nice meal, was cool to catch up again.

Rome really is quite the sight.

Tips hat,

I think my Mom would go insane if she didn’t see me for that long.

As an aside, they expressed interest in travelling to Asia to link up with me for a brief time, next time I’m over there (back in Jasper, Alberta right now) … funny how once a family member travels somewhere “exotic”, it suddenly becomes alot less scary 😛

That’s so awesome that you’re going to get to hang out with your Mom in Rome! We would welcome visits from family on our travels this year. Probably won’t happen because everyone who is willing to travel overseas to see us already came out for our wedding, but maybe John’s sister will join us. Have fun! =)

What a great gift you have been given, to see your mom after soooo long. Tell my sister to hug you long and tight for me. Miss your face something awful. Please come home soon.

Really love the line “cash is nothing more than stored energy”.

I plan to do this myself. Nice blog brother.
