Standing Still While Moving Forward in Ottawa

Greetings,

Been in Ottawa almost a month now and in something like a few days it will be 2 full years since I left my old job for the last time. Being home sorta feels like standing still but if the time is used wisely in the vaguest of senses could be steps forward. Lately I’ve been somewhat busy doing little of much if that makes sense…

Recently made some changes to a business of mine that are proving to be quite shocking. You can go around running a virtual lemonade stand charging $0.05 a glass. You can then add a little class to such said glass and in no time be charging $0.50 a pop and selling the same amount AND MORE. Very easy to sell yourself short online, don’t do it. It will blow your brain, seriously. If you have a business, play with the prices as you owe it to yourself, okay?!

Was hungry about 30 minutes ago so after leaving a friends place ended up at a greasy shawarma aka kebab joint. Ordered a large shawarma, eat it and left the establishment slightly disgusted with myself. Then for reasons unknown to most re-entered such said dive and ordered another shawarma to go. It was the work of the devil and leaked out gallons of greasy chicken fat mixed with garlic sauce all over person, egregiously erroneous.

I digress.

The grease fest cost about $9US and it wasn’t that good. While driving back covered in such said garlic sauce of death couldn’t help but wonder what I’d be eating had I been in Thailand? Naturally, also thought of how much would it have cost? Something crazy about being home is the rest of the world starts to fade into the background. Can see why so few people make the effort to do the trek in the first place, it’s so easy to just chill…

Being home temporarily is nice, what I find shocking is how quickly things resume. If you’re one of those who have never left and who don’t have kids or something tying them down… Could be missing out on a world of opportunity, for real. Being home is a weird mind shift where suddenly the rest of the world becomes foreign, dangerous and uncertain again, huh!?

Reality is that currently “action” is being missed out on, that is bad. The good news is that one knows where to find such said action. On the topic of action, your body gets some great “regeneration action” by being home. Even if you’re just being yourself and going about your life as you normally would, having a base and the luxuries that come with do wonders for fighting a fatigued figure.
