Local Bus – Stone Town to Nungwi

Hello from paradise,

Took a criminally overcrowded bus from Stone Town to Nungwi Beach Aka the most northern tip of Zanzibar. 29 bodies in this bus of sorts aka custom modded pick up.

Nungwi is paradise, most magnificent beach I have ever been to, the colors oh the colors. Checked into a great guesthouse with stellar staff who just lounge in a large aquarium like building.

Walk down the beach, FYI photos are from mid tide, high tide shoes the true color of the ocean better, pics to come, here a while. The sand is so white that it blinds you.

Strolled beach and asked a lady in a bikini where a good place to eat is, turns out a lady and her friend from Germany that I met briefly in Stone Town and staying at same place as me.

Chilled, watched sunset then hung at guest house with staff. At about 9 they started BBQ of fish, they gave the 3 of us a full fish, fresh from the ocean, arranging a similar BBQ tonight.

My bed is massive and oh so comfy, the room is basic but clean with ideal location just removed from beach and near local cuisine. Picked up a spinach, coconut octopus curry and spicy rice dish for less than $3.

There is no ATM here and not too crowded. Kendwa is the next beach Aka second last on island going north and way more touristy where people pay $15 for a fresh fish half the size guys like me eat for market price. May cab over one day to check it.

Let us just say I am in paradise, all other beaches melt away from memory when you sit back on this banging beach. Will stay a few days, weeks, whatever. Afterward, Hahahaha, have not gotten this far.

In paradise time to soak it all up like an overly gluttonous sponge. Yes, on iPhone, ignore typos, will ya. Will get a photo at high tide, blow your freaking mind styles.

Tips hat,

P.s: off to the beach

P.p.s: on Zanzibar, zantel is the aim you want, mainland, zain is best 3G. Pencil in Zanzibar, Indian ocean has best beaches I’ve seen yet, FYI.
