Greetings from Messina, Siciliy

Greetings from Sicily!

Wow, Sicily, never thought there would be an update from the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Sicily is viewed as different than the rest of Italy due to it’s distinct culture, history and well it’s an island. Same applies for Sardinia, fyi which is in between Sicily and Corsica.

Arrived today and so far haven’t visited much. We’re in Messina as we wish to go south along the coast tomorrow. The people here are quite friendly and lively but I will warn you, Messina is beautiful but has parts like Naples.

Messina is a port city nearest to to the main land. You can get a train to Saint Giovanni, Italy then catch a ferry to arrive here. Most go to Palermo but if you wish to hit the south east, might as well just come here.

I will note that if you’re into gelato, be sure to have some. Despite having many in Rome, the ones I’ve had here have been far superior in taste, portion and price, far superior.

As always here are some random photo’s from our brief “Walk About”.

Cordially,

P.S: Yesterday, just wandered around Rome, eating Italian food, drinking Italian wine and most certainly eating far too many gelatos.
