Everything Happens for a Reason!

Good day friends,

I’ve been on a tear lately, yes? The amount of travel I’ve done in the last 6 weeks is more than I ever imagined and I’m beyond grateful for it. Never would have believed we lived in a world where you could sell your possessions buy a one way ticket, start a blog and end up here? I came back to Canada because I had a very grandiose plan involving Little Corn Island, naturally Canada is not on the way to Central America from Florida.

I’ve been stressing and running around like a madman trying to work out legalities and arrange funds. If you’re leaving your home country for extended periods of time I HIGHLY recommend you give power of attorney to your parents(unless they are deadbeats), if not you may be on expensive flights home to do paper work when you’re inspired by thinking big.

Last night I found out some devastating information regarding my egregious plan which has made me decide to walk away. This entire day has been totally shot and I’ve sat here questioning where to go and kicking myself for booking tickets in advance. This is the first time I booked tickets in advance that I can remember and now have other plans.

In parting, everything does happen for a reason. The deal fell through but I’m here with my parents eating my favorite meals and reconnecting with friends. I’m also going to visit my grand parents tomorrow. Had this grandiose plan not been hatched I wouldn’t be spending time with the people who matter most to me on this planet. It’s also made me realize I don’t see them enough and long-term, will be adjusting my travel style.

Time is more precious than money and time well spent is the secret to happiness… (I think!?)

Tomorrow I’m flying to Boston at 7am.

Oh yeah, same same but different situations are happening in your life, right now…

Tips hat,

P.S: Photo above is from a magazine cover in Ottawa a few years ago. Everyone thought I was nuts to leave but turned out to be a blessing. Everything happens for a reason, the issue is not getting caught up in what you’ve lost but what you’ve gained…

Time is definitely more precious than money! Good that you got to spend time with your family at least. Thanks for writing this post, it’s a good reminder — I’m kicking myself after something that happened on my travels last week, but I believe everything happens for a reason too. So just waiting for the day I realize what that good reason is….

Thanks and it will require some thought. Sometimes the toughest lessons lead to the biggest changes.

So very true. I’ve always believed this and while we might never know what the exact reason is, we can take comfort from the fact that it (whatever IT may be), happened just the way it should have.

Happy writing and happy travelling 🙂

You got it and it’s the only way it ever will be, I think!?

Thanks for the kind words, traveling tomorrow!
