Varna, Bulgaria has everything…

Greetings from Varna,

The sun was shining and decided to stay. Headed to the beach where the salt water from the Black Sea smelt sensational mixed with sunscreen lotion and great looking Bulgarian ladies wearing less than most magazines on the top shelf back home… I don’t point this out in a pervy way, more so to say that back home is prudish, it’s considered normal here, which it should be everywhere…

What is not to like about this place? Let me expand…

Everywhere you walk, there are women that make your head turn. Prague, Krakow, Budapest? I thought so too my friends, I thought so too… The food is beyond cheap and the beer even cheaper, although I have not had one yet. There is quality nightlife here and just a solid vibe…

Here is some random info for you: Most hostels are 7-10E and are across the street from the Cathedral aka smack in the center of town. Great dining options abound and if you aren’t feeling adventurous, try Happy Grill, it’s like the Kelseys or whatever around here. It’s very cheap and actually quite nice. That said, at some small local place, had a delicious chicken soup for less than a dollar.

The nightlife is solid with random events, parties and whatnot going on all the time. The beach is quite nice, it’s long and lively. If you like beach volley ball, plenty of courts as well. Supposedly that strip is also a nightlife hub during the summer.

Should leave tomorrow, may just stay here. It’s the places you never thought anything about that often speak the most to you. Bulgaria is quickly becoming somewhere I’d say “Check that place out” over the established hubs. Please remember that any “established hub” is so because people went, spread the word and others followed…

Considering it is the Balkans and it has a sketchy rep, the only real scam to watch for is unauthorized money changers that hang near the cathedral. Many approached me today and gave them the “are you kidding me!?” like reply.

Tips hat,

P.S: No photos from the beach in full swing, I was part of the scenery as opposed to a gent capturing the moment, so to speak…
