Panga from Little Corn to Big Corn Island

Greetings,

The photo above was taken an hour ago boarding the panga from Little Corn Island to Big Corn Island. The sea was smooth and the ride took a total of 25 minutes for C$110 or almost $5. If you’ve got an afternoon flight to Managua from the Corn Islands aka the 3:40PM flight, just take the 1:30PM panga.

The airport is small and kinda boring.

Next stop, Managua.

Looks very orderly compared to our return panga ride from Little to Big Corn. There must have been 75 people trying to fill the roughly 50 spots on the “fast” boat back on that day in early January. We decided not to pile in, and waited for the “red” boat. AKA the “slow” boat. Instead of 25 minutes it took nearly an hour. But it had a shade canopy which was nice. And we made our flight to Managua no problem.

Yes, the airport is exactly as you describe it.

I’ve seen it overcrowded, dodgy. The slow boat works too but would NOT want to go in that on a really rough day. You want lots of power to ride the waves instead of be at their mercy, so to speak.

Yeah the airport is less than inspiring. Had the C$40 vigoron at the port again, delicious.
