You'll never know unless you go

Khao San Road, Bangkok, Thailand Vlog Walk Thru

Greetings,

Spent some time on Khao San Road, Bangkok as many of you know. While there filmed a video blog which is basically a full walk-thru of all of Khao San Road. Youtube will not let me post the full 15 minutes so I have broken it into two parts. This is the first and longest part.

We talk to many of the local personalities, check out many shops and such. This video will give you a great idea of what it is like being on Khoa San Road. If you’ve been there, it should bring back memories, if you have never been there, you’ll have a great idea of what actually happens on this street, sorta.

Note: In video above click the “360″ and turn to “480″

I have had many great times on Khoa San and as mentioned in the video, if starting a trip in Asia, come here first. You’ll meet people from all over the world and get an idea of where to go. You may even meet some people here and go with them, somewhere, anywhere. I met some gents and ended up on Koh Tao, which turned out to be one of my most favorite places on this planet.

Tips hat,

  1. That was cool. I’m a fan of the videos.

So … there are two kinds of mangoes in SE Asia. Well, not 2 kinds, but two ways to eat them. Green Mangoes and Sweet Mangoes. The green ones, like the ones you showed us are made into juice or eaten sliced and are very very sour. I never got into green mango juice. Yuck! But I do like them sliced very thin with Bagoong (fermented shrimp paste) or in a salad with tomatoes and onions. Sweet mangoes are, well… just that. If not eaten as is, also good with Bagoong. We are starting to get them in North America now and although grown in Mexico, the “diamond mangoes” are a pretty good competitor for the ones in Asia and certainly help tide you over until you can get back to Asia. They’re small, yellow and incredibly sweet.

Looking forward to more stories and videos from the road.

  2. Hey Fran!

When I was watching it again, I realized that. I have never been “big” into the sour ones myself. Do love the yellow ones. The ones here are actually quite nice as well, not like the ones from Java but still awesome.

Mangos are my favorite fruit, I dare say.

    More to come, of course!
