Impromptu Trip to Pemuteran, Bali

hired private SUV to Pemuteran Bali

Greetings,

Last night I eat a terrific meal and a friend bought “Avatars” for a cool $1. I watched it and then left my room. I then ran into some Canadians, the least gregarious I’ve met yet.

I’m chilling near this bar as one of the Canadians forgot their wallet. The Swedish girls I went out with the other night passed by and a conversation ensued. They were leaving for Pemuteran, Bali the next morning at 9am. I expressed my interest in such said trip and they asked if I cared to join them. I quickly quipped “yes, but of course” and showed them to my room so they could kick the door in the morning when it was time to go. Gentlemen do no ask where a woman resides but volunteer where they live, got it?

They hired a private driver in an SUV, full with leather interior for 400,000Ru and he drove us to our destination making several stops along the way including a detour through he mountains.

Cool Hotel with Pool on way to Pemuteran Bali

Now I am writing this to you from Pemuteran, Bali. Pemuteran is a beach town in the north with black sand from volcanoes. I am accompanied by 3 cool kids that live here and they are most amazed at the speed in which I enter this text.

We got a room for 85,000Ru, split 3 way, indeed. Most places here are 200,000Ru+ a nigh but as always, we found a gem. I had another place broker a deal of 2 rooms for 300,000 instead of 400,000 but if we pay 85,000Ru a night, split 3 way, do the math.

I eat egregious quantities of fruit today as I somehow forgot wha a kilo was and bought 3 kilos of the stuff, nothing to do but eat it really.

This is a small town and the only other traveler we’ve met is a dive instructor from France. The people are incredibly friendly here and the town is very rural with people tilling fields with oxes, chickens running around free and live stock all over the place. I quite like it here and plan on staying a few days.

There is also an English School run by volunteers, I overheard the lessons and joined in to share some of my “expertise” for a few moments. I was quite fun and I am amazed at how well these kids speak English, by the time they are adults they will most definitely be fluent.

Spontaneity is the sugar and spice in life, if you have none your life is boring and bland, it is that simple really. I love last minute trips where I have 20 minutes to pack and move out. Thrilling, indeed. The same driver will pick us up at whichever date we choose at whichever time we please.

You can rent scooters for much cheaper but we saw the aftermath of a decent sized crash, granted it would be fun to drive one… For the price of ~$13US each, I accept being chauffeured with air con and plush leather seats, some of these roads are quite harrowing indeed.

The rest of Bali is quite different than Kuta and that is it for now. Below is the view from my room and there is now a huge crew of kids totally amazed at how fast I operate this thing, I will teach some of these kids their “way around the web” as it’s extremely important in this day and age.

Good day to you,
