Good day,

I sit here at the Hilton Garden Inn in Anchorage, Alaska wearing a pair of board shorts with a zip up hoodie with no undershirt. Why you ask? I do so because the time is 5:15am and I’m not sure if I should sleep, eat breakfast, go for a jog or just crank out this bloggery before busting jumping jacks alone in the dark, seriously. Turns out I arrived in Anchorage yesterday at about noon, it’s 4 hours behind Ottawa and as a result found myself passed out at 9PM last night, not recommended… I’m wide awake, cue Katie Perry or better yet, don’t.

So I’m here with a large crew of other bloggers in my age group to visit Alaska and experience the Hilton Garden Inn. Why you ask? The Hilton has many different types of hotels and this one is geared towards leisure travel and isn’t as pricey as some of the other Hilton segments making it a great alternative for people of all ages but specifically late 20’s early 30’s type deal.  I think it’s cool that Hilton is stepping up like this and being innovative. There was the printing press, the radio, the television and now the start of the next major shift and that’s the internet people, indeed.

Turns out Anchorage has a lot of things to do in and around the city. Last night we went to this place called Marx Bros Cafe for a meal that was magnificent. I just wish I hadn’t gorged on the appetizers at the start of the evening because by  the time my entree came I was so full with crab cakes and smoked salmon that it was almost a struggle to see straight. That said, I still managed to hack that halibut and get it down my gullet. Part of me wants to explore everything there is in and around Anchorage but part of me also just wants to live in this hotel for the next few days.

Either way, I’m on top of the world (literally) and feeling great about it.
