Hanging in Hoi An, Vietnam

Greetings,

I’m sick and sleep deprived. Read this update on “Sugar is Killing us All, It’s Poison!” That Lipton Iced Tea addiction is killing me so I quit cold turkey. Couldn’t sleep until 4am yesterday, FML.

The Doctors just gave me a cocktail of pills for my fever, throat and sleeping problem. I’ve told you countless times I enjoy the company of Doctors and nurses of the female variety, indeed.

Woke up early and had breakfast, cruised around and my buddy got some custom made kicks, you can get ANY TYPE of shoe / model ever at different quality levels made. The final product? Great. When I say anything, I mean anything AND MORE.

Had lunch with a family today who runs one of the oldest tailor shops on the main drag. It was good, I’ve never eaten so much for lunch in all of Asia. They also told me where I could get a nice room for like $200 a month, no wifi though so I’d still rather pay double and I kinda like living in a nice hotel, it has always been a dream of mine, sorta.

Went for a leisurely jaunt and ran into this tall redhead from France. Said “Good day to you” she said “are you selling something” I said “no” she said “oh well thank you”. I then walked over this bridge and around, when I came back over the bridge ran into her, we chatted and walked around for a few hours and eat ice cream.

In this one dirt road, these dogs freaked on us, she was all “no big deal”. I’m like “big deal” picked up rocks and said I was going back. They started barking and running towards us, I know better…

She doesn’t like Vietnam, says the people are rude. Look you, whatever you think manifests, big time. When I was with her, I ran into more rude people then ever, not like I care, there are 90,000,000 people here. Just like sadly, when people walk with me, they run into sketchy dogs, sigh.

When I should have napped, I knocked to see if one of the girls who makes all the fashion decisions for the others was around, wasn’t but another girl I’ve been hanging out with was there. We looked at fabrics then went back to ice cream place and drank ludicrous amounts of coffee and had a most stimulating conversation.

Later, we all met up and had a 7 course meal for $4 haha. The courses were small, I picked a horrible meal and had not 1, 2, 3 but 7 crappy dishes, then again it was the peak of my “I am feeling horrible” so we came back here, I could have gone to bed an hour or so ago but the market was rallying so I sold a bunch of stuff.

I don’t trust this market at all and I want my cash back so that’s what I’m doing, makes sense yes? It’s basically a place for distinguished degenerate gamblers unless you do lots of research. Until I settle down somewhere, I’m just raising cash.

I took a multitude of photos and videos and have uploaded some. I’m getting back to a “normal routine”. Tomorrow, one of the ladies we’ve been hanging with will help me choose some new fabrics as she’s the “fashionista” of the group and I’m just a guy who wears white T-shirts and wants specialty cargo shorts so I can help free men around the world from the geekdom of money belts.

I like it here, it’s nice. I’ve been in Asia a while, how do I know? I get so cold when it’s like 15 degrees I need to wear a long sleeve and a tuque.

I’m looking forward to extending Visa and taking a break from traveling a bit and getting down to some business, even if it’s just working on older projects of mine. I went on this trip to find opportunities, I may have just found some.

I need rest, good night.

  2. Take care of yourself…you’re amazing ‘cuz you can still entertain with your stories even when sick, & your blogs are addictive! Also, I’ve always been a believer in my mom’s advice: eat/drink/do everything you like but in moderation.

  3. Sure hope you get better and feel bettter soon. Basics “to dos” I’ve learned re immune system- 64 oz. water, dark green vegies and some fruit, protein, vit D/sun, rest/sleep, as little sugar as possible, avoid things that “tie up ” the immune system due to it having to fight objects of inflammation in the body (lung cells from smoking, cuts, injuries, infections, rich food )
Alcoholic drinkgs can have a lot of sugar (check out on net for numbers). Too much caffeine can wear out adrenal glands, affecting overall system. If you’re up for it, you might go for a few weeks of as healthy of eating/lifestyle as possible (though not sure how easy it is for you to always get clean water) and let your body regain some good immunity. imo and experience, between the knee infection and antibiotics, the rabies shots, late nights, sleep disturbed, diet, etc. – your immune system has really been hit. I did the same thing myself one time when I was travelling in Europe and ended up with mono and many weeks of having to rest and get well.
Still read your blog every day and still praying as always for your safety and protection! God bless, Lindsay

  4. Thank you ladies!

Anna – I have NO DOUBT you’ll be out here again soon. Weren’t you in London like a week ago? Been a while since I had one, they are delicious, yes? ;) Glad to hear from you.

Fe – I’m working on that, it’s coming though, slowly but surely.

Lindsay – Thank you as always. Felt better today. The nightlife here sucks but during the day, so much to do and see. I am going to extend my visa for ~1-2 months in the next few days and just “chill out”.

Also this is the “tailor of SE Asia” lots of opportunities here. Funny you mention that as it’s exactly what I figured, time to rebuild and regroup for a while, this place is perfect. Also the nightlife sucks so no temptation to go out whatsoever, just work on more income streams and get back involved with the PPT, I miss hanging out there regularly.

Tips hat, the formal way aka removing it.

  5. Sounds like some really good opportunities there– and you have the entrepeneur skills so should be some really good weeks for you. It will be great to have you back on the PPT more if it doesn’t mess up your sleep. imo it justs keep getting better and better. hpuma, vcu, iwin, chess, many others (some like yogi so humble it doesn’t jump out at you) just hitting it out of the PARK. what an incredibly wonderful community.
My note to you inspired me ha ha. Going back off bread, dairy, etc. and back on to all that list I gave you. so….THANKS for getting sick Rob lol.

  6. I have noticed they have been banking coin at criminal rates. I have missed out on a lot of action but no regrets.

I am glad someone will learn from this or benefit hahaha.

Soon I must settle down somewhere, but if you have endless time and things going on, it’s wise to rest when nothing is going, thing is… Will that ever happen?

Rest up for the both of us! *cough*
