Diving into Local Dishes in Granada, Nicaragua

Hola,

Have spent the last two days in Leon and haven’t been up to all that much besides doing some work, experiencing whatever it is that life gives you and snapping shots. Ryan made a video from some footage we took on the second day in Granada and put together a video about dining at some local eatery. Eating at small local establishments has to be one of my favorite things about travel, in fact I’m off to a similar one right now. Figured I’d throw this up now because if not now, when?

Last night I met a guy who used to follow the Grateful Dead around and who has been living in Nicaragua for over 15 years. I asked him a whole slew of questions about anything and everything my curious mind could conjure. I’ll share some of what I’ve learned and photos tomorrow.

Tomorrow I *may* be going on a 2 day volcano hike but still undecided.

Will say that the Cathedral of the Assumption is incredible and has an undeniable aura.

Tips hat,

  1. Cool new blog layout!:) Now I wanna visit Nicaragua.

    • So far so good and I haven’t even hit the beaches yet!

Thanks, loving the new theme and it was overdue.

  2. Hey Rob! Love the new site design. I’ve made it to Honduras and got to the Guamilito (market) this morning and finally got a Honduras blog post up. The trip to the market was great. Not as abundant as others I’ve been to, but the endless stalls of Corn Tortillas made it more than fabulous. Had a papusa-making lesson when we got back to the apartment which I’ll post soon. The internet connection is spotty, to say the least.

Nicaragua looks much more colorful than where I am, but it’s still a great adventure!

Glad to see you’re having a great time too!

  3. Checking out your blog now, I am heading into Honduras soon I think. Where are you in Honduras? We should meet up and eat in some market!

    • Hey there… I’m in San Pedro Sula. Let me know if you come in and we’ll head to the market.
